Continuous search for biobased alternatives
Sustainability is central to Baril Coatings. We are therefore constantly looking for biobased alternatives for our raw materials. Bio-MPA was the missing link to achieve a 100% biobased alkyd coating. Together with TNO and resin manufacturer Worlée-Chemie GmbH, we have successfully demonstrated coatings based on bio-MPA on a kg scale. Validation showed that bio-MPA outperforms its petrochemical counterpart (phthalic anhydride) in both performance and durability. That is why we like to use bio-MPA in our product.
