Sound barriers Parkstad

Sound barriers Parkstad

The sound barrier at Kerkrade (The Netherlands) is part of project ‘Outer ring Parkstad Limburg’. The sound barrier limits sound pollution for the local residents and therefore forms an important part of the project. The 25 sound barriers are eight kilometers long. Concrete or glass panels have been added to the construction for the covering of the screens.

The screens were produced by ‘Aa-Dee Machinefabriek en Staalbouw Nederland’. The coating is applied by ‘Ploegmakers Metaalconservering’. This coating protects the construction of the sound barrier in a sustainable way.

At the sites where nature was removed for the project, new nature has been planted. For example, an ecoduct has been built and dozens of fauna tunnels have been created in the area. The use of the environmental friendly DualCure fits this project perfectly.
